Coastal Protection Engineering (CPE) is conducting a study at the request of the City of Venice (City) to assess potential alternatives to reduce or stop the flooding within and on the roadways and property surrounding the existing Flamingo Ditch (Outfall 5). The study is intended to inform the City and residents of potential solutions that may exist or have not been considered previously and provide a cursory look at flooding issues that are impacting residents in the vicinity of Flamingo Ditch. It is understood that flooding in the area is caused by storm surge, rainfall events, and/or a combination of both.

The City and CPE are soliciting input from the public to be taken into consideration in the study. Comments may be provided in person at the public meeting that is scheduled for 1pm Eastern on December 16, 2024, at the City Hall.
